Mother's Day

Mother's Day in Mexico is always May 10th.  This year the Pan de Vida Youth Group made the day extra special for all the Moms.   They gave special attention to making decorations for the table and cooking a delicious meal that they served to us.  We had fun playing some games that the kids had put much thought into planning.   We were also treated to a skit and some poems. I was very touched that Jose Juan and David, who are beginners with the guitar, played special music for us, while Lupita sang. Then we were each presented with a gift~a cross!

After we ate, there was a time of reflection and testimony.  It was emotional as the youth shared how much it meant to them to have people love them and care for them when their biological Moms had abandoned, neglected and/or abused them.  The fruit in their spiritual lives is evident in their testimonies.  I feel thankful and privileged that I am one, who has been chosen, to be a part of God's great plan in their lives :)

Pictures

Ira and I have been in the SPLICE program at Mission Training International (MTI).  It has been an incredible experience that God has used to teach us so many things about Him, ourselves and how to relate to others through our ministry.  There is so much to process and I will definitely do a post about it soon.  For now, I thought I would give you some pictures of the kids that I found on my camera. As you will see, they are mostly pictures of the younger ones.  The older kids don't think getting their picture is as cool :) Enjoy!
