Pan de Vida has a new youth group ~ THE LEVI! Missionary couples, Eileen and Paco along with Elia and Justo have joined in ministry to lead the youth 15 yrs old and up in a Youth Group. They have named themselves Levi (pronounced La-Vee) after the Levites for whom God had chose to serve Him and His temple. They have been very creative in turning the library into a meeting place and call it El Refugio (The Refuge). To cover the books to make the room more personal, they have placed colored material as murals. One is even being painted to display the theme of the Levi youth Group. It has the world in the background with a glow around it with a set of hands in front holding a heart that is on fire. Their theme is "Igniting hearts to light up the world." They meet every Sat morning. The leaders are working together to come up with some creative ideas to teach the youth as they grow in their personal relationship with Christ and to equip them into discipleship. Here at Pan de Vida, it is mandatory for the children to attend Sunday School, church services, devotions and prayer. The youth group is not mandatory and it is so exciting to see that most everyone within the age group is interested in attending.
I am posting a few pictures of the group and also the mural in progress. The boys had football practice this day but otherwise they attend as well. I will also post more pictures as the mural is completed and of the activities of the Levi!
